Midleton Community Enterprise Centre was the brainchild of the Midleton & Area Chamber of Commerce. They took a lead in the provision of ready to rent incubator units for fledgling businesses who could not rent at market rates. The space was available for 12 months, by which time the hope was that the business would be able to survive real world costs, and vacate the incubator space to allow another starter enterprise.
The building is divided into 7 100 m2 units and there is an office centre which is available to all occupiers of the building. This space also houses a common canteen facility. The building was opened by an Taoiseach Bertie Aherne in 2001, and to date the building has stood the test of time.
